Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has reportedly made a huge decision on the future of Antonio Conte.

According to reports, De Laurentiis is planning to offer Antonio Conte a new contract, with an extension to 2029 on the cards.
The move would be designed to secure continuity after a period of strong results.
A new contract for Conte would remove any uncertainty around the coach’s longer-term future.
Conte’s Napoli contract runs until 2027. However, De Laurentiis reportedly wants to move early rather than wait until closer to the time.
De Laurentiis sees Conte as the “commander” of the project, after a run of trophies and renewed momentum.
Napoli believe the foundations are in place for another title push, and they want Conte to lead the next phase.
Napoli’s Supercoppa Italiana triumph has accelerated plans, with De Laurentiis pressing for an agreement at the start of 2026.
The report claims Napoli would like Conte to commit quickly, offering longer-term stability to the squad amid a signal of intent to rivals.
A separate report, attributed to La Repubblica, suggested that De Laurentiis and Conte were “inseparable” on the flight back from Saudi Arabia.
It adds there was no visible tension over the January restrictions, and that players, including Matteo Politano, spoke of renewed loyalty to the coach.
That same piece suggests Conte has shown more openness after past friction, with both sides attracted by the idea of continuing to work together.
In 2024, Conte signed a three-year contract with the Neapolitans worth €8million per season plus bonuses.
It demonstrated De Laurentiis’s desire to tie down one of the most successful coaches in Serie A history to help Napoli recover from the previous year’s tenth-place finish.
January market key to Conte’s decision
Conte is said to want immediate technical guarantees, with recruitment and depth central to the talks.
Napoli are open to reinforcements, especially in midfield, and possibly a wide option to support the attack.
For instance, reports say Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber is a Napoli target.
However, sporting director Giovanni Manna is reportedly working under strict financial limits.
A “zero net spend” requirement is apparently in place for the January transfer window.
That means Napoli are likely to prioritise low-cost opportunities rather than big-money spending to satisfy Conte’s needs.
