Bologna Transfer News: Ndoye Deal Done, Replacement Hunt Underway

Start

Bologna have agreed to sell Dan Ndoye to Nottingham Forest for €40 million plus add-ons, bringing an end to one of the summer’s most drawn-out transfer sagas.

Napoli was also in the race for the Swiss international, but the Premier League side ultimately won out with a more appealing financial package.

Ndoye, who contributed 12 goal involvements last season and scored the winner in the Coppa Italia final, becomes the latest star player Bologna has parted ways with – a strategy that has worked well for the club in recent seasons, thanks to smart recruitment and reinvestment.

As Bologna moves swiftly to replace the 23-year-old winger, Jeremy Sarmiento has emerged as a potential option, after the Brighton player reportedly asked to leave the Premier League side. The Ecuadorian is thought to be available for around €18 million.

Bologna Transfer Targets

In addition to Sarmiento, Bologna has identified two other main candidates to replace Ndoye. The first is Wesley Gassova, a 20-year-old Brazilian winger currently at Al Nassr.

Though Wesley impressed at Corinthians, he’s struggled for playing time in the Saudi Pro League and is expected to be available for transfer. Talks between Bologna and Al Nassr had previously broken down but are expected to resume soon.

The other name is William Boving, who is coming off a strong season with Sturm Graz in Austria. The 22-year-old scored 11 goals and added six assists last season, drawing interest from French side Nice and Bundesliga club Mainz.

Bologna is pushing hard for the Dane and could offer him a more prominent role under manager Vincenzo Italiano.

Lennon Miller Bologna Transfer Update

Bologna is also closing in on a deal for Lennon Miller, the 18-year-old Scotland international from Motherwell. Udinese is also in the race for Miller, who made his senior Scotland debut earlier this year, but it’s Bologna who is ahead.

The midfielder recorded four goals and eight assists in 39 appearances last season and is seen as one of the most promising Scottish prospects of his generation.

His compatriot, Bologna captain Lewis Ferguson, is believed to have played a role in encouraging the move.

If completed, Miller would join a growing list of Scottish players in Serie A, including Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour, Josh Doig, and Che Adams.

Sunderland Makes Second Bid for Jhon Lucumi

On the defensive side, Jhon Lucumi could be on his way out. The Colombian center-back is the subject of serious interest from Sunderland, who have reportedly returned with an improved offer of nearly £20 million after seeing an initial bid rejected.

While Lucumi is also attracting attention from Roma, Juventus, and Aston Villa, Sunderland are now favorites to complete the deal.

Should the sale go through, Bologna are expected to reinvest those funds into strengthening their back line, continuing the club’s strategy of sustainable squad building while remaining competitive.

Bologna Eyeing Champions League Qualification

Bologna’s aggressive work in the market follows their Coppa Italia triumph, albeit a disappointing league finish last season.

They have already added Ciro Immobile and Federico Bernardeschi this summer, signaling their intent to push into the Champions League spots.

However, Serie A is tightly competitive, and sportsbooks continue to place Bologna outside the top four favourites – check the safest online betting sites for the latest odds.
