Ahead of Saturday’s MD2 Serie A clash, FootItalia has the Bologna vs Como preview, prediction, betting tips, odds and more.

Bologna Vs Como Preview

Having triumphed over Milan in the 2024-25 Coppa Italia final at the end of last season, Bologna got off to a losing start in the new Serie A campaign on August 23.

Vincenzo Italiano’s side slipped to a 1-0 defeat to Roma at the Stadio Olimpico. Summer signing Wesley Franca scored the decisive goal to give the hosts all three points.

In-demand Sunderland target Jhon Lucumi was at fault for the goal but Italiano will stick by the Colombian. Assuming his potential move to the Black Cats doesn’t gather any more momentum in the coming days.

Elsewhere, I Rossoblu boss had to contend with injuries to Nicolo Casale and Ciro Immobile. The latter only joined the club this summer.

It capped off a miserable afternoon for Bologna who have now lost four league games on the bounce. Furthermore, they have won just two of their last 16 season openers but they do have a good recent record against Saturday’s guests.

Although Como has struggled against I Rossoblu in recent times – picking up just one point against them last season – Cesc Fabregas’ side will be brimming with confidence going into the clash at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

The Lariani picked up all three points after dispatching Lazio at the Sinigaglia on MD1. Star man Nico Paz netted an exquisite free-kick and also set up the other goal.

Although the Argentine architect could be joining Real Madrid next season, Fabregas has splashed the cash in Lombardy this summer to prepare for a European push.

The Spanish World Cup winner has drafted in the likes of Jesus Rodriguez and Jacobo Ramon to help boost his roster. Now, Cesc will be hoping his side continue where they left off last week.

Bologna Vs Como Team News And Predicted Lineups

Vincenzo Italiano will be forced to change his starting XI owing to the injuries suffered by Nicolo Casale and Ciro Immobile. The latter is expected to be out until October with the former after September’s international break.

On a more positive note, Juan Miranda is back from suspension and newbies Nadir Zortea and Jonathan Rowe are available for selection.

In attack, Santiago Castro is expected to lead the line with Italiano set to go for his trusted 4-2-3-1 formation. Jhon Lucumi is also expected to start despite heavy interest from Sunderland.

Although Como aren’t the favorites with Serie A betting sites, Cesc Fabregas’ side will head to Emilia-Romagna full of confidence.

Tasos Douvikas – who scored the opener on MD1 – has three goals to his name already this season. He’ll likely keep his place over summer signing Alvaro Morata.

Argentine attacker Nico Paz is also enjoying a bright start to the season. He is set to play alongside Jesus Rodriguez and Lucas Da Cunha in attacking roles.

On the injury front, Assane Diao and Alberto Dossena are still ruled out. Jayden Addai is also a doubt as he tries to recover from an ankle problem.

Bologna predicted lineup: Skorupski; Zortea, Vitik, Lucumi, Miranda; Freuler, Pobega; Orsolini, Odgaard, Cambiaghi; Castro

Como predicted lineup: Butez; Van Der Brempt, Ramon, Kempf, Valle; Perrone, Vojvoda; Da Cunha, Paz, Rodriguez; Douvikas

Bologna Vs Como Prediction

Last season, just one place separated Bologna and Como but the former registered 13 more points than Cesc Fabregas’ side. FootItalia expects both sides to push for European soccer next year and that could well be reflected in the scoreline.

I Rossoblu heads into the match as slight favorites but Fabregas’ men have enjoyed back-to-back victories in all competitions in 2025-26.

Expect an even encounter at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara with both sides happy to cancel each other out and settle for a point apiece.

Prediction: Bologna 2-2 Como

Bologna Vs Como Betting Tips

  • Bologna vs Como betting tip 1: Nico Paz to score anytime at +333

A very generous price for a man in form. Nico Paz got off the mark for both assists and goals against Lazio and the Argentine star continues to go from strength to strength.

  • Bologna vs Como betting tip 2: Exactley four goals scored at +600

A wager to consider for a brave bettor but one that certainly offers realism and value. Bologna will surely be much better in front of goal and Como certainly knows how to find the back of the net.
