AC Milan Preparing €50m Proposal to Bring Brahim Diaz Back From Real Madrid

AC Milan are known to be in the market for fresh attacking options, but are likely to wait until the summer to explore a Brahim Diaz transfer approach.

Milan’s persistent striker problems forced them into the market in January, however, where they completed a quick-fire stop-gap loan for Niclas Fullkrug.

The German may turn out to be an astute, cut-price signing if early signs are anything to go by, but Max Allegri is aware that Milan rely heavily on a select few players to make things happen in attack.

Allegri praised Adrien Rabiot’s addition, who arrived for just €7m to plug the gaping hole left by the departure of Milan’s most productive midfield asset in Tijjani Reijnders.

However, sporting director Igli Tare is known to have held discussions with Allegri over bringing in a more rounded attacking midfielder, who could be utilised in multiple positions across the front line.

AC Milan Ready to Sanction Brahim Diaz Transfer

An opportunity to bring in a player who knows Milan more than most may present itself in the summer, with Real Madrid eager to trim down the untenable amount of attacking midfield profiles in their squad.

Brahim Diaz has endeared himself to the Madrid faithful as a useful, passionate member of the squad, but as he approaches an important juncture in his career, Diaz finds his minutes increasingly limited.

He has made just 12 appearances in LaLiga this term, but has failed to complete the full 90 in any of them.

Competition in the squad is fierce; Arda Guler, Franco Mastantuono and Jude Bellingham all share a similar role, while Madrid intend to bring back Nico Paz from Como by taking up their buy-option in the summer.

While he often operates out wide, Madrid’s depth on the wings is among the strongest in world football.

Diaz continues to make a strong impression despite his limited minutes, and at just 26 he represents bundles of potential still to grow.

Madrid must balance their own selfish desires to keep him on the books with financial planning, particularly with Diaz likely to command a fee of between €40m-€50m.

AC Milan, who remain fond of Diaz after his glittering spell at the San Siro, would be prepared to sanction that kind of fee, if the opportunity arises in the summer.

Should Nico Paz arrive from Como, the feeling is Diaz’s future would almost certainly lie away from Madrid.

Milan are keeping tabs on a host of new midfield options, with Yves Bissouma and Manuel Ugarte also on their radar in case of Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s expected departure.
