The Anti-Doping Prosecutor has officially requested a four-year disqualification for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba. The French international tested positive after an anti-doping check that took place on 20 August, at the end of the first round of Serie A in a match between Juventus and Udinese.

The Frenchman has been sidelined since but did appeal the positive test earlier this year, submitting a counter-analysis which was also returned a positive result.

Pogba has the opportunity to reach an agreement with the anti-doping prosecutors for half the ban length initially requested, which would also require the green light from WADA.The second option would be to take his case to the Anti-Doping Sports Tribunal.

Should he opt to reach an agreement to half the sentence, he’d be unable to appeal but in the second instance, he could still appeal to CAS.
