Cassano: “Leao is a fake player without guts, even Conceição will realise It”

Antonio Cassano remains steadfast in his opinion of Rafael Leao. The former Italian international spoke about the Portuguese Milan striker on Twitch’s Viva El Fútbol after the Rossoneri’s Supercoppa victory against Inter in the final:

“Leao still proves that he’s one without guts because he goes to the national team and talks from afar, now he’s talking about Conceição,” Cassano stated. “I’m saying this now after he’s had a good game, but in the long run, even Conceição will realize that Leao is a fake player, a 0-0 player, like Martial. Neither fish nor fowl. He doesn’t know how to play with the team, can’t make the final pass, doesn’t see the goal, he’s not much.”

Cassano continued his critique, “Leao should thank Fonseca. If he had found Spalletti or Capello in his place, he risked being pinned to the wall. Fonseca behaved too well, only benching him 3-4 times. Leao should be ashamed of his behavior towards Fonseca. After a victory, he says Conceição gives him energy; he should have had the guts to say what he thinks, not now or when he goes to the national team. I will always be on Fonseca’s side, a great coach and a great man, unlike him who lacks personality.”
