According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Premier League side Chelsea hold a ‘serious’ interest in Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana. The 27-year-old only arrived in Milan last summer, but has already attracted attention from across Europe for his strong performances this season.
Gazzetta report that Inter took the opportunity to scout Guglielmo Vicario during their 2-0 win over Empoli at the weekend as the keeper is firmly in the clubs sights, should Onana leave in the summer. The newspaper point to a friendly discussion that took place off the pitch between Inter’s deputy sporting director, Dario Baccin, and Vicario yesterday, suggesting it might be a sign of things to come.
The newspaper claim that Chelsea’s interest in Onana is ‘serious’ and the Nerazzuri have reportedly set a price tag of €40m for the keeper, given that he signed a five-year contract last summer. A meeting could take place ‘imminently’ in Milan, meaning Inter would have to look to secure a replacement soon.
If Onana is sold, Viacrio and Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi are high on Inter’s list as potential replacements.
