Como’s Fabregas on Ikoné and Valle: “They Could Feature Against Bologna”

Como manager Cesc Fabregas addressed the media in a press conference ahead of his team’s Serie A clash with Bologna, providing updates on injuries, tactics, and potential new signings.
Fabregas began by outlining the injury situation: “Kempf and Van der Brempt will be missing for Bologna, though Van der Brempt could be back for the Juventus game. Gabrielloni, Sergi Roberto, and Alberto Moreno are also out, with Moreno facing two to three weeks on the sidelines due to a flexor problem.”
The defensive crisis has forced Fabregas to consider alternative options: “We have many problems in defense and must manage the situation one way or another. Fellipe Jack could play as a full-back or center-back, and Engelhardt on the right: he’s training in that position with Iovine. He’s a fast and dynamic player who still needs to grow and will be important for Como.”
Addressing the challenge posed by Bologna, Fabregas said: “Bologna is a strong and formidable team that has played in the Champions League and plays a pressing game even more than Atalanta. We’ll need to be brave and good at consistently managing the ball.”
When questioned about potential transfers, Fabregas remained cautious: “There won’t be any new players for this match. This is a difficult market and there’s little time left; you can’t always bring in the players you want. It’s likely that between today and tomorrow some new players might arrive, but regarding Ikoné and Valle, I won’t say anything until it’s official. If they sign before, they could already be available for Bologna.”
Reflecting on the team’s tactical approach in their recent match against Atalanta, Fabregas explained: “It was an option I had been considering for some time, and it seemed like the right opportunity against Atalanta to better manage the situation between the lines. For an hour, everything went well. I think we could propose this lineup again in the future.”
