Conte: ‘If important offer comes, I’ll consider it’

Antonio Conte says he is not actively looking for a new coaching role, but if something ‘important and serious’ comes along, he’ll consider it. The 53-year-old was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur earlier this season and has already been linked with a return to Juventus or a potential switch to Napoli. Speaking at the Timone d’oro award presentation in Arezzo, Conte was asked about his plans for the next season:

“The desire to coach is always there, the passion never wanes. If that were the case, I would have to look inside and think about not doing this job anymore. That said, I don’t have a spasmodic quest to look for a coaching role, should something important and serious happen, that gives me a stimulus, then I would consider it, whether in Italy or abroad.

“The Tottenham experience? The last experience, like all the others, made me experience positive things and some less so. The experience was great, we did our best and gave everything we had. When I arrived the team was eighth/ninth, and we made it to the Champions League. Then this year, with the team fourth, I decided to part ways with Tottenham, some had decided to settle for less.”
