AC Milan have had a busy transfer window, with significant changes to their squad as they prepare to face Roma in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals. The Rossoneri have bolstered their attack with the acquisition of Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez, while Spanish forward Alvaro Morata has departed for Galatasaray on an initial loan deal. In another notable move, former club captain Davide Calabria has made a switch to Bologna.

As Milan gear up for the cup tie, manager Sergio Conceicao receives a boost with the return of Youssouf Fofana from suspension. However, the team still faces injury concerns, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Emerson Royal, and Alessandro Florenzi remaining sidelined.

With a packed schedule ahead, including a crucial league match against Empoli and a Champions League playoff against Feyenoord, Conceicao may opt to rotate his squad. Despite potential changes, Tammy Abraham is expected to lead the line for Milan.

Roma, on the other hand, have received positive news regarding the fitness of Manu Kone and former Milan player Stephan El Shaarawy, both of whom have recovered from minor knocks sustained in their recent match against Napoli.

The Giallorossi will, however, be without suspended centre-back Gianluca Mancini for the San Siro showdown. In his absence, Mats Hummels is likely to return to the starting lineup after being rested in Roma’s previous outing.

Claudio Ranieri’s side is set to welcome back their preferred attacking duo of Artem Dovbyk and Paulo Dybala, who were both rested during the Derby del Sole. Dybala, in particular, has a strong record against Milan, having netted 10 goals against them in his career, though only one has come in Coppa Italia competition.

AC Milan (4-3-3): Maignan; Walker, Tomori, Pavlovic, Hernandez; Musah, Fofana, Reijnders; Pulisic, Abraham, Leao

Roma (3-5-2): Svilar; Rensch, Hummels, Ndicka; Saelemaekers, Kone, Paredes, Pellegrini, Angelino; Dybala, Dovbyk
