Torino Pushing to Sign Cyril Ngonge from Napoli, Deal Close

Start

Torino are accelerating their pursuit of Cyril Ngonge, with the Napoli winger pushing to complete a move to the Granata in the coming days.

The 25-year-old Belgian, who arrived at Napoli from Hellas Verona in January 2024, has found limited minutes under Antonio Conte and is eager to reunite with Marco Baroni, his former coach in Verona.

According to multiple sources, Ngonge has already given his full approval to the transfer and is now pressing Napoli to finalize the agreement.

Ngonge Skips Napoli Training as Torino Transfer Nears

Adding weight to the transfer rumors, Ngonge was the only player missing from Napoli’s pre-season training camp this week.

While no official explanation has been given, it’s a familiar sign during the summer window – an indicator that a transfer is only a matter of time.

Torino are confident of landing the winger on loan with an €8 million option to buy, which would be activated if certain conditions are met.

New talks are scheduled between the two clubs on Monday, July 14, with Napoli open to letting Ngonge leave as they reshape their squad for Conte’s first season.

Why Torino Wants Ngonge

The move is being driven in large part by Marco Baroni, who is building a Torino side tailored to his 4-2-3-1 system.

With Karamoh and Elmas departing earlier this summer, the Granata are in need of dynamic wide players. Ngonge, who impressed under Baroni at Verona with his pace and one-on-one ability, fits that profile perfectly.

Ngonge wants to work with Baroni again; that is clear. Despite interest from Club Brugge and other European clubs, he’s made Torino his top priority.

Who Are Napoli Selling This Summer?

Napoli, for their part, are active on the outgoing front. With major signings like Kevin De Bruyne, Noa Lang, Sam Beukema, and Luca Marianucci arriving, Conte is trimming the squad to make room.

As well as Ngonge, Michael Folorunsho is also expected to leave, with Cagliari in talks to bring him in permanently.

Napoli have even explored a player-plus-cash swap involving Ngonge and Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, but that option remains secondary to a direct loan deal.
