AC Milan Continue Hunt For Striker As Massimiliano Allegri Targets Bayer Leverkusen Talisman Victor Boniface

Start

AC Milan are continuing their hunt for a striker and Massimiliano Allegri is reportedly interested in Bayer Leverkusen star, Victor Boniface.

Will Victor Boniface Leave Bayer Leverkusen?

The Nigerian international has been a hot topic during this summer transfer window, as Boniface continues to be linked with a move away from Bayer Leverkusen.

Since signing for the German side in July 2023, Boniface has made 61 appearances and contributed to 43 goals (31G +12A), while also winning a Bundesliga title.

Rumors over a move away from Leverkusen started back in January, as the striker appeared to have agreed a switch to Saudi Arabia but this transfer collapsed after a disagreement in demands.

Boniface was left out of training during this period and looked to be heading for the exit, but no deal has been agreed with any interested party during the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old started just 12 Bundesliga matches last season under Xabi Alonso, however, the Spaniard’s departure to become Real Madrid manager has handed Boniface a new lease of life.

Erik ten Hag took the reins in Leverkusen and is said to be a huge fan of the Nigerian striker, but is willing to work in accordance with the German side if an offer comes in.

Boniface has three-years remaining on his current deal, which puts Leverkusen in a strong position when entering negotiations as the striker could cost up to $75 million.

The German side are one of the favorites to win the Bundesliga on the best betting apps and will be looking to reclaim the title after failing to repeat their 2023/24 success last season.

Are AC Milan Interested In Victor Boniface?

Boniface has been linked with multiple clubs since rumors over a move away from Leverkusen began in January, with the likes of Tottenham, Manchester United and AC Milan all looking for a striker.

The Nigerian has revealed that a move to Italy is more enticing than a transfer to England, which hands the Rossoneri a huge boost if they decided to approach Leverkusen.

Massimiliano Allegri will take the reins in Milan for a second time, after the Italian side decide to dismiss Sergio Conceicao and appoint the former Juventus boss.

The veteran manager has already made his mark on the side with two huge additions in midfield, signing Samuele Ricci from Torino and Luka Modric – as the Croatian ended his 13 season spell with Real Madrid.

This double signing will not be Milan’s only business this summer, as AC Milan are also interested in approaching Arsenal over a deal for Leandro Trossard.

Mikel Arteta is close to adding another winger to his roster this summer, signing Noni Madueke from Chelsea and causing Trossard to drop down in the pecking order.

Any deal involving the Arsenal star will not impact Milan’s decision on Boniface, as the Rossoneri are still on the hunt for a striker following Luka Jovic’s departure and Tammy Abraham’s loan deal coming to an end.
