The latest Darwin Nunez transfer news has indicated that the Uruguayan has approved his move to Napoli.
Nunez looks certain to end his spell with Liverpool after three years on Merseyside. The 25-year-old still remains a fans favorite at Anfield despite his struggles in front of goal.
Signed under former head coach Jurgen Klopp, the South American striker has been guilty of missing some glaring chances in big games for the Reds.
Current boss Arne Slot stuck by Nunez in 2024-25. However, he only scored five English Premier League goals with the last of those coming against Southampton in March.
🚨🔵 Understand Darwin Núñez has given his initial green light to Napoli, open to the move after being presented Conte’s project.

Darwin Nunez Transfer News
Last week, Napoli were handed a transfer boost as Liverpool lowered the asking price for Darwin Nunez. Originally, the Reds were looking to offload the Uruguayan for €60million.
Although that fee was doable from the Azzurri’s perspective, they’ve managed to negotiate a lower price for the 25-year-old striker.
Head coach Antonio Conte is a huge fan of Nunez and wants to unleash him alongside Romelu Lukaku for the 2025-26 campaign. Now, the maverick Italian boss has the chance to make that prospect a reality.
Milan were also in the running for Nunez but on Monday, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Nunez has already given the thumps up about a switch to Naples.
How Much Will Darwin Nunez Cost Napoli?
Darwin Nunez will cost Napoli a reported fee of €50m. The Azzurri will aim to pay €43m upfront with the other €7m coming in add-ons.
Romelu Lukaku was drafted in last summer and finished as the club’s top scorer. The Belgian is set to team up with Nunez as Antonio Conte’s side aim to retain the Scudetto in 2025-26.
It’s understood that Conte has been handed a €200m war chest to fund new signings. That figure could potentially rise if Victor Osimhen departs this summer.
The Super Eagles forward is keen to leave Naples and spent last season on loan at Galatasaray. The likes of Milan and Juventus have shown interest as well as a plethora of clubs in Europe.
What Trophies Did Darwin Nunez Win At Liverpool?
During his three seasons at Liverpool, Darwin Nunez won the 2024-25 Premier League title, the 2023-24 EFL Cup as well as the Community Shield in 2022. The Uruguayan finished as a runner-up in the 2024-25 EFL Cup.
In 143 appearances for the Reds, Nunez netted 40 goals in all competitions. He also chipped in with 26 assists. His most valuable contribution came in a 2-1 away win against Newcastle in 2023.
Nunez came on as a 77th minute sub for the Merseysiders who were a goal and a man down. The 25-year-old scored in the 81st and 93rd minute to clinch victory for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
He also netted injury time winners against Nottingham Forest and Brentford. The latter which helped Arne Slot’s side go on to win England’s elite soccer division.
