Empoli continued their impressive start to the Serie A season with a 2-0 victory away at Cagliari, extending their unbeaten run to five matches. However, head coach Roberto D’Aversa is keeping his team grounded despite their early success.

Speaking after the match, D’Aversa emphasized that the club’s primary objective remains unchanged: “Our goal is survival. We know this and we will work to achieve it as soon as possible.”

The manager praised his players for their performance against a challenging opponent: “I congratulate the boys. I had defined this as the most difficult game against a team that played competitively against Napoli.”

Goals from Lorenzo Colombo and Sebastiano Esposito secured the win for Empoli at the Unipol Domus stadium. D’Aversa expressed satisfaction with the result, stating, “We earned a deserved victory. I couldn’t wait to get back to the bench.”
