Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis delivered an impassioned speech during the presentation of the club’s new partnership with Sorgesana, their new back-of-shirt sponsor. De Laurentiis took the opportunity to highlight Napoli’s achievements and criticize rival clubs’ practices.
Addressing Napoli’s status in Italian football, De Laurentiis stated, “It has always been said that Napoli is a transit club for players. False! Today we are not only a club that launches champions but also a destination. Established champions want to come, one of the best coaches in the world strongly wanted Napoli.”
He emphasized the club’s financial commitment, saying, “In a phase where football spends less, Napoli invests over 150 million euros in the summer market. I read that De Laurentiis has gone crazy, pulling out all this money, but last year after the Scudetto we made mistakes in purchases but we didn’t spend little… and in other years we didn’t spend little either.”
De Laurentiis took pride in Napoli’s ethical approach to success: “We have demonstrated that another football is possible, winning the Scudetto while remaining faithful to our values. We are the other side of the coin and that’s how we want to remain.”
The Napoli president outlined ambitious plans for infrastructure development, including a new training center and the potential purchase and renovation of the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. He also hinted at further international expansion and projects for their global fanbase.
In an emotional moment, De Laurentiis promised, “I can promise you that as long as I manage Napoli, it will never back down in the face of predatory behavior and private interests. To protect our players and our fans as well.”
