De Laurentiis:’Giuntoli is under contract until 2024′

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis seemingly confirmed that Cristiano Giuntoli will remain at the club for another season. The Partenopei sporting director has been closely linked with a move to Juventus and is reportedly trying to free himself of the final year of his contract with Napoli.

Speaking at a press conference, De Laurentiis was once again asked about Giuntoli’s future and confirmed that he has no intention of releasing him from the final year of his deal:

“Will Giuntoli be there next season Napoli? He is a sports director, he has a contract with us until June 30, 2024, so I don’t see the reason for the question.”

“But why do we have to talk about the sporting director? We are here to talk about Abruzzo, not to talk about the sporting director or the coach. I have already said what it is. You people came here to participate in a press conference about the summer training camp. Napoli is considered the 17th best club in the world, so why should we talk about the sporting director? A figure however important, but not central to next season, which will not be based on a sporting director.”
