Evan Ferguson has officially completed his season-long loan switch to AS Roma from English Premier League club Brighton.
Ferguson becomes the second signing under new head coach Gian Piero Gasperini. The 67-year-old welcomed Moroccan midfielder Neil El Aynaoui from Lens on Sunday.
The former Atalanta boss has been tasked with reviving Ferguson’s faltering career. After bursting on to the scene for the Seagulls in 2022, the 20-year-old has suffered a number of injuries which have hampered his progress.
That resulted in Ferguson dropping down the pecking order at the Amex. A temporary switch to West Ham for the second-half of 2024-25 failed to provide an upturn in fortunes.
However, the Republic of Ireland wonderkid will be aiming to make a name for himself in Italy. He will don the number 11 jersey for the 2025-26 campaign.

Evan Ferguson Loan Fee
Despite Atalanta trying to muscle in on Roma’s deal for Evan Ferguson, the 20-year-old only had aspirations of playing for the Giallorossi.
Ferguson finally put pen to paper on an initial season-long loan deal with the Romans on July 23. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side will pay just €3million for his services.
Which in theory could prove a bargain if Ferguson rediscovers his best form. The Irishman has certainly conjured up a number of gladiatorial performances for Brighton in the past.
Evan Ferguson Buy Option
If Evan Ferguson does have a successful season in the capital, Roma have the option to buy. The Serie A side are under no obligation to do so if things don’t work out.
To acquire Ferguson on a permanent basis will cost the Giallorossi €37m. Which again, could be deemed a bargain if the 20-year-old replicates his form at the Amex from 2022-23.
All that remains now is that Ferguson adapts to the Italian game and settles in as quickly as possible. If he can do that, he will certainly become a fans favorite at the Stadio Olimpico.
Evan Ferguson Career Stats
The best Bitcoin betting sites are all leaning on Roma to challenge for a European spot in 2025-26. Their case will be strengthened if Evan Ferguson can replicate his career stats from a few seasons ago.
Overall for Brighton, Ferguson has netted 17 goals across 80 appearances in all competitions. His finest performance came at the start of the 2023-24 campaign when he scored a hat-trick to help down Newcastle 3-1.
Ferguson became just the fourth Premier League player to achieve this feat aged 18. Following in the footsteps of Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen and Chris Bart-Williams.
