Juventus and Federico Gatti have officially reached an agreement on a long-awaited contract extension that will see the Italian defender remain in Turin until the summer of 2030, according to multiple reports from Italy.
The new deal makes Gatti the longest-contracted player in the current Juventus squad.
Negotiations had been ongoing for several months, and while positive signs emerged last November, the deal was delayed through winter and early spring.
But now, both parties have finalised terms, marking a significant commitment between Juventus and one of their key defensive assets.
Federico Gatti’s new Juventus salary and contract length
The 26-year-old centre-back, who joined Juventus from Frosinone in 2022, was previously under contract until 2028. With this extension, his deal is now valid through the 2029–30 season.
Reports suggest his salary will increase from €1.5 million net per season to between €2.5 million and €3 million, reflecting his growing importance in the team.
Gatti’s new contract is longer than those of recent Juventus signings and extensions, including Kenan Yildiz and Gleison Bremer, both of whom are tied to the club until 2029.
Gatti rejects transfer interest to stay loyal to Juventus
Despite interest from several clubs, including Napoli and English Premier League sides such as Nottingham Forest, West Ham United, and Everton, Gatti chose to stay with Juventus.
Gatti has ultimately decided to stay loyal to the club that gave him his Serie A debut and developed him into a reliable first-team regular.
Injury update: When will Federico Gatti return?
Currently sidelined with a heel bone fracture, Gatti has missed several matches. Before his injury, he had played more minutes than any Juventus outfield player this season, underlining the importance of his role in the team. In total, he has made 40 appearances across all competitions this campaign, starting in 35 of them.
Despite being injured, Gatti still ranks third in overall minutes played for Juventus in 2024–25, behind goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio and midfielder Manuel Locatelli.
Juventus building for the future
With Gatti now secured until 2030, Juventus are building a long-term defensive core. Other players with contracts through 2029 include:
-
Kenan Yildiz
-
Gleison Bremer
-
Douglas Luiz
-
Teun Koopmeiners
-
Khephren Thuram
-
Andrea Cambiaso
-
Juan Cabal
This move sends a clear signal that Juventus are planning strategically for the future, placing their trust in young, committed talent.
