Over his nine years with the Hammers, Ogbonna became one of their most dependable defenders, making 249 appearances across all competitions.
Now a free agent after his contract with West Ham expired earlier this month, Ogbonna is open to a return to Serie A. While Vincenzo Italiano’s Bologna has been monitoring him for the past few weeks, Fiorentina has now entered the race.
According to today’s Corriere dello Sport, Fiorentina has decided to compete with Bologna for Ogbonna’s signature. The club is keen to add the experienced defender to Raffaele Palladino’s squad following the sale of Nikola Milenkovic to Fiorentina.
Both Fiorentina and Bologna are now looking to persuade the former West Ham center-back to join their ranks, valuing his experience and leadership qualities.
