The latest Fiorentina transfer news has revealed that three English Premier League sides are currently tracking Amir Richardson.
New head coach Stefano Pioli is now tasked with the decision whether to let the Moroccan leave Florence after just one season.
Pioli returned to the Stadio Artemio Franchi last weekend in what will be his second spell as boss. The 59-year-old previously managed the side between 2017-2019.
Fiorentina Transfer News
According to reports, Brentford, Sunderland and West Ham are all interested in Amir Richardson. Fiorentina are already considering a swoop for free agent Josh Brownhill as a replacement.
Richardson is a 6ft 6in central midfielder who is incredibly athletic and can cover ground easily using his huge strides. A trait that has caught the attention of the Premier League trio.
The Bees are about to embark on a new era under the guidance of Keith Andrews in the dugout. The 44-year-old views Richardson as an ideal signing who can strengthen the west Londoners midfield.
Regis Le Bris’ Black Cats have already signed a number of players this window but believe Richardson would make a fine addition on their top-flight return.
From West Ham’s perspective, beefing up the midfield is high on Graham Potter’s wishlist and the former Chelsea boss has been a long-term admirer of Richardson.
Will Amir Richardson Quit Fiorentina?
As it stands, it’s unknown whether Stefano Pioli wants to part ways with Amir Richardson. Or if the player himself wants to leave Fiorentina.
Richardson enjoyed a solid maiden campaign at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. His towering presence and excellent soccer attributes saw him earn favorable reviews.
The Moroccan international is a very unique player whose unusual profile makes him a very exciting prospect. He still has four years to run on his current deal so the Serie A side are under no pressure to sell.
However, the lure of the Premier League may be too hard to refuse if the right offer comes in. Aged 23, Richardson has a market value of €8.5million but the Viola could easily command treble that fee.
Amir Richardson Career Stats
Amir Richardson’s career stats may not be littered with goals and assists but his dominating presence and technical ability indicate he has a bright soccer future ahead of him.
In total, Richardson has made 136 appearances across all competitions in his time with Le Harve, Reims and Fiorentina. He has scored 11 career goals and provided seven assists to date.
Richardson has made eight appearances for the Morocco national side and was part of the roster who won bronze at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Interestingly, Richardson is the son of former NBA player Michael Ray Richardson. That in itself highlights where his incredible athleticism and all-round sporting ability comes from.
According to the safest online betting sites, Richardson looks set for at least one more season in Italy but if a sizable offer was received, he could leave this summer.
