Francesco Calzona spoke with Sportmediaset following his Slovakia team’s defeat against Austria, shedding light on his unique situation of juggling dual roles and the uncertainties regarding his future. Calzona is set to remain with Napoli until the end of the season, but there’s no decision on his future beyond June:
“This situation arose at a time when it was possible to do so. The dual role is only compatible when there are no official matches, as far as I’m concerned.”
Regarding his future prospects, Calzona expressed uncertainty about his continuation at Napoli, citing the nature of his agreements with Napoli president De Laurentiis. “I don’t think about renewal because the agreements with De Laurentiis are only for these months. I have a contract with the Slovak Football Federation, whom I thank for allowing me to coach the team of my dreams. Let’s continue, and then we’ll see, hoping to achieve an important position with Napoli.”
