Inter President Says Francesco Pio Esposito Is A ‘Great Talent’ After Youngster Wins First Italy Cap

Francesco Pio Esposito has been called a ‘great talent‘ by Beppe Marotta who believes the Inter youngster can become one of the world’s best.

The Nerazzurri president was quick to lavish praise on Pio Esposito. The 20-year-old is expected to become a star in the coming years at the San Siro.

On Friday, Pio Esposito even won his first senior Italy cap which further highlights how quickly he has risen. He replaced Moise Kean in the 84th minute of the 5-0 thrashing over Estonia.

Although Inter are aiming to lure Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic to the San Siro next season, Francesco Pio Esposito may save the Nerazzurri time and money.

Especially if Beppa Marotta’s expectations of Pio Esposito come to fruition. The club president heaped praise on the youngster but added there is still a lot of work to be done to reach the top.

“Francesco Pio Esposito is definitely a great talent, but to become a true champion, he still needs to grow,” Marotta explained.

“Most of the credit goes to him, although it must be combined with the work done by his family. They raised him and his brothers well, with his development at Inter, and his own abilities.

“Today, we can consider him a talent, given his age. However, to become a champion, he needs to develop qualities such as humility, perseverance, and passion in everything he does.

“Pio has already reached a high level of maturity.

“But personally, I’ve seen many talents who remained just that because they didn’t combine technical skills with personal qualities.

“So far, his path has been positive, and we hope to continue supporting him in the best way possible.”

Will Francesco Pio Esposito Play Against Juventus?

After September’s international break is over, Francesco Pio Esposito will be looking to make his mark in Serie A. The 20-year-old will be in line to feature against Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.

However, it’s more than likely at this stage that usual duo Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram will be starting up front. Esposito is a brilliant option to introduce from the bench if need be.

His chances of getting on the pitch will increase dramatically if he plays and scores for the national side on Monday night against Israel.

One thing’s for sure, Esposito has the full backing of the club president.  He must be ready to take his chances when provided by head coach Cristian Chivu.
