AC Milan’s Davide Calabria finds himself at a crossroads in his career, with his contract set to expire in July. The right-back hasn’t given up hope of renewing with his boyhood club and is now willing to extend on his current terms of around €2 million per season. However, Milan has yet to signal any intention of opening negotiations.

Calciomercato report that while Milan haven’t explicitly asked Calabria’s agents to find him a new club in January, manager Paulo Fonseca values having a quality alternative to Emerson Royal for the busy fixture schedule ahead. The club would only consider a January sale under two conditions: if Calabria himself requests a move and if an offer of €3-4 million is received.

Two interesting options have emerged for Calabria should he depart Milan prematurely. Galatasaray, who showed strong interest last summer, is prepared to renew their pursuit. Meanwhile, Marseille is evaluating the 27-year-old right-back, with manager Roberto De Zerbi reportedly involved in the assessment.

Regardless of whether Calabria leaves in January or summer, Milan appears to have already identified his potential replacement within their ranks. The club has high confidence in Alejandro Jimenez, the talented young Spaniard acquired from Real Madrid for €5 million.
