According to the club’s statement, Messias has sustained a soleus muscle strain that will keep him off the pitch for several weeks. The injury is expected to sideline him until the beginning of 2025, dealing a significant blow to Genoa’s squad depth.
This season has been particularly challenging for Messias due to recurring injuries. He has only managed to appear in five Serie A matches, scoring just once. His second goal of the season came in his sole Coppa Italia appearance.
