Newly promoted Genoa are looking to bolster their back line and are pushing to secure a loan deal for Juventus youngster Koni De Winter. The young talent spent the last season on loan with Empoli and impressed many with his performance, making 14 appearances in total across all competitions.

Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the 21-year-old centre-back has become a target for Genoa as they bid to make a bold showing on their return to Serie A.

De Winter joined the Bianconeri from Zulte Waregem in 2018 and has progressed rapidly through the Primavera and into the Juventus U23 team which plays in Serie C.

According to Di Marzio, Genoa are looking for a season-long loan agreement for De Winter, while Juventus want them to include a a mandatory buy clause in his contract.

Talks are ongoing for the moment, but De Winter is part of the Bianconeri squad that is on tour in the USA at present, and may also feature in their upcoming friendly against Atalanta.
