Premier League Side Ready To Battle Roma For Giacomo Raspadori As Italian Pushes For Atletico Madrid Exit
Giacomo Raspadori has attracted interest from across Europe as he seeks a move away from Atletico Madrid.
Roma are set to face heavy competition from the Premier League for out-of-favor Atletico Madrid star, Giacomo Raspadori.
Giacomo Raspadori Pushes For January Move
The Italian international has failed to make an impact in Spain since joining Atletico Madrid in August, making just one league start for Diego Simeone’s side.
Raspadori left Napoli after an underwhelming 2024/25 campaign, starting just 11 league matches in the Partenopei’s run to the Serie A title.
Atletico spent €22million on the Italian, but this appears to be a wasted investment as Raspadori is already pushing for a move away from the Spanish capital.
This news has alerted multiple teams in Serie A, with Roma adding Raspadori to their January shortlist as Gian Piero Gasperini continues his search for a striker.
Evan Ferguson has failed to cement a place in the Giallorossi starting lineup and Roma are reportedly willing to cut the Irishman’s loan deal short.
The 21-year-old has scored just three goals in 16 appearances across all competitions and has been symbolic of Roma’s struggles in front of goal.
Gasperini’s men have scored just 16 goals in Serie A this season, which is less than 10 other teams in Italy’s top-flight.
Bringing in Raspadori would be a major coup for the Giallorossi, but Roma are set to face stiff competition from the Premier League.
Premier League Side Consider Giacomo Raspadori Bid
Moving back to Italy is the most likely outcome for Raspadori, but the Azzurri international is also considering alternative options after attracting interest from England.
West Ham are reportedly monitoring Raspadori’s situation in Spain as the Hammers are set to lose Niclas Fullkrug to AC Milan in January.
The German striker has endured a disastrous time in East London since joining West Ham for €27m in August 2024 and is all-but certain to move on in January.
Fullkrug’s exit could open the door for Raspadori to join the Hammers and become a cult hero at the London Stadium, provided Nuno Espirito Santo’s side met Atletico’s demands.
The Spanish side are willing to listen to offers for the Azzurri striker in January, with the Spanish side open to both loan offers and permanent deals.
Any interested party will need to structure the deal to meet Atletico’s €26m price tag and West Ham are said to have a financial advantage over Roma – as the Giallorossi currently have a number of players on loan.
