Tuttomercato claim Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini is set to pen a new long-term contract with La Dea, despite Manchester United and Inter having expressed an interest in the centre-back. Scalvini is a product of Atalanta’s youth academy and has been with them since 2015, progressing through the ranks to the first team in 2021.
A promising 2022-23 campaign saw the 20-year-old linked with moves to the Premier League and some of Serie A’s giants, but the suggestion is that he will remain in Bergamo for a while yet.
TMW report that Scalvini has decided to sign a new contract with Atalanta which will keep him with the club until 2028. The new deal will see an increase in his salary to €1.5m net per season, a reward for his strong displays over recent campaigns.
