Giuntoli: “Vlahovic? I judge actions, not words. Transfer market? We’ll work on defence, attack”

Cristiano Giuntoli, Juventus’ Managing Director of Football, spoke to DAZN before the big match against Milan. The Bianconeri director particularly emphasized his stance on recent statements made by Dusan Vlahovic from his national team camp.

Regarding Vlahovic, Giuntoli stated, “The statements? I wouldn’t want to judge words, but actions. He’s having an important season, he’s making sacrifices, he’s doing well. We’re happy with what he’s doing, what he says is of little importance.”

On the center-forward position, he commented, “The coach has distinguished himself at this start by finding solutions, he continues, he doesn’t complain. It’s a season start marked by many absences. I don’t know who will play as center-forward. I really like Motta and the team.”

Discussing the transfer market, Giuntoli revealed, “We expect to recover Milik, who is resolving his problems. We need to do something in defense, it’s never easy, but we want to operate in the defensive department. A striker different from Vlahovic? The problem doesn’t exist, we count on Milik, on his recovery, we think he’s very suitable for the coach’s game. We think we need to intervene in defense, even numerically we need someone.”

On McKennie and Koopmeiners, he added, “As an expert, I can say that Koop has great quality, he will be a reference point, he knows how to get free. The coach can count on McKennie’s runs into the box, which he knows how to do. I believe this is the team’s physiognomy.”
