Gotti: “I think Fonseca will continue playing 4-4-2”

Lecce manager Luca Gotti believes Milan will continue playing 4-4-2, and thinks the Rossoneri have relieved some of the pressure that was on them after their win in the derby. Lecce enter the game following a draw against Parma in the league and a midweek Coppa Italia defeat to Sassuolo.

Gotti emphasized the importance of maximizing their performance against Milan, stating, “We’ll try to do our best. We’re facing a team that has probably gone through a moment of pressure but has now lifted some weight off their shoulders. We’ll try to do our best to disrupt and hurt Milan.”

Addressing injury concerns and squad selection, Gotti mentioned, “Yesterday was just a recovery training. We have a rather crowded infirmary. Some have long-term issues, others small discomforts. Today we’ll assess who’s feeling better and see how to place everyone in the best positions.”

The manager also touched on the team’s morale after their Coppa Italia exit, saying, “Football is very emotional. Sometimes there are certain signs, you can predict… Instead, you end up losing two important points in stoppage time against Parma. Two points that would have given a different environmental serenity to everyone, lost suddenly. The cup didn’t go as we hoped. I have to accompany the group in constant growth, incidents are part of the journey.”

When asked about Milan’s potential tactical approach, Gotti speculated, “In general, I think they will continue with the formation from the derby. They have shown courage. They have many players to continue in this direction.”

Regarding striker Krstovic’s condition, Gotti reassured, “He’s not doing badly. Episodes happen. Yesterday he had a normal training session. What interests me is how one comes out mentally. We talked a lot together without hiding anything, and I didn’t notice any problems.”
