Italian Football Federation (FIGC) President Gabriele Gravina has addressed the upcoming challenges facing the Italian national team and head coach Luciano Spalletti. In a recent interview with Radio Rai, Gravina emphasized the importance of Italy’s participation in the Nations League as part of a two-year plan to secure a top seed for the World Cup:
“We restart from an important tournament, we must be conscious that Italy must be seeded at the World Cup and the Nations League is a stage of a journey of two years.
“Spalletti must restart from the group and from the awareness of having made a disappointing performance against Switzerland.
“We have committed some errors, we have analyzed them together with the coach, we need to improve but all together, and this is obtained being humble and united, being truly a team and therefore rebuilding the trust inside the group and with the fans.”
