Lazio are gearing up for a crucial away match against Juventus on Saturday evening, with both teams currently tied for third place in the Serie A standings behind Napoli and Inter. As the countdown to the match continues, Lazio manager Marco Baroni is facing a potential setback with midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.
Calciomercato confirm that the French midfielder suffered a foot injury during France’s 2-1 victory over Belgium in the Nations League on Monday evening. Guendouzi received a kick to his right foot and was subsequently substituted in the 73rd minute by national team coach Didier Deschamps.
Fortunately for Lazio, medical examinations have ruled out any fractures to the fifth toe of Guendouzi’s foot. The player will attempt to recover in time for the match, potentially making the bench. However, if he is unable to participate, Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino is ready to step in alongside former Juventus player Nicolò Rovella in the midfield.
In other team news, right-back Manuel Lazzari is unavailable for the match, with Montenegrin defender Adam Marusic expected to fill in for him.
