Why Inter Milan Must Not Sell Hakan Calhanoglu To Galatasaray In January

According to the latest Hakan Calhanoglu transfer news, Galatasaray is ready to launch a January bid for the Inter Milan star.

Calhanoglu came close to joining the Turkish giants in the summer. However, the Lions were unwilling to meet Inter’s €30million valuation.

Now, Corriere della Sera reports that Okan Buruk’s side is ready to test the Nerazzurri’s resolve once again in the winter window.

However, Calhanoglu has proven to be one of the best midfielders in Serie A this season and Cristian Chivu will do all he can to keep the 31-year-old in Milan.

In the summer, Cristian Chivu hit out at critics after it appeared Hakan Calhanoglu would leave Inter Milan. A rift even emerged with Lautaro Martinez and the Turkish star after the Club World Cup.

Martinez insisted Calhanoglu should quit Inter if he didn’t want to be there. That did appear to be the case but ultimately, the 31-year-old stayed at the San Siro despite interest from Galatasaray.

In fact, Calhanoglu was in talks with the Super Lig champions but Inter weren’t willing to sell him on the cheap. Especially to a European rival.

With Okan Buruk’s side ready to try their luck again, it’s widely expected that the Serie A giants will once again rebuff the Lions offer.

With Hakan Calhanoglu passed fit for the Milan derby – which is expected to be the highest grossing Serie A match of all-time – his presence will be paramount to Inter’s chances.

In fact, the Nerazzurri ace is the league’s top scorer with five strikes this term. A credible feat for a player who typically plays as a central midfielder.
