Handful Of Serie A Sides Monitor Christopher Nkunku Situation As Chelsea ‘Desperate’ To Offload Frenchman

Start

Multiple Serie A sides are said to be interested in Chelsea star, Christopher Nkunku, as the Blues are ‘desperate’ to offload the Frenchman.

Why Do Chelsea Want To Sell Christopher Nkunku?

Christopher Nkunku’s time in the English capital looks to be coming to an end this summer, after failing to make any sort of impact at Stamford Bridge.

The French international signed from RB Leipzig in July 2023 for around $70 million and was a part of a huge overhaul of stars at Stamford Bridge – being Mauricio Pochettino’s first addition.

However, during his time in the Premier League, Nkunku has made 62 appearances for Chelsea and scored 18 goals which has left him hugely out of favor under Enzo Maresca.

In the 2024/25 season, the former RB Leipzig star made just nine starts in the Premier League and accumulated just 910 minutes throughout the entire campaign.

This has left the 27-year-old in a precarious position at Chelsea and the Blues are reportedly ‘desperate’ to offload Nkunku this summer, as the club are happy to cut their losses.

Chelsea are coming off a huge FIFA Club World Cup triumph after beating PSG 3-0 in the final and are now one of the favorites to win the Premier League on the best betting apps.

Adding Joao Pedro and Liam Delap to their roster means Nkunku’s minutes will be even more limited, which has attracted interest from a host of sides in Europe.

Nkunku still has four-years remaining on his deal in West London, as he was one of the players to agree a lengthy deal at Chelsea and may be a stumbling block in negotiations.

Will Christopher Nkunku Move To Serie A?

Multiple teams across the globe are monitoring Nkunku’s situation, with the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham being linked with the Frenchman.

Ruben Amorim has added Matheus Cunha to his roster this summer and is close to signing Brentford star, Bryan Mbeumo, although those negotiations appear to have stalled.

Should this deal fail to materialize, then a possible deal for Nkunku has been rumored and could see Alejandro Garnacho go the other way by joining the Blues.

However, recent reports have suggested that Inter Milan are now in the running to sign the Chelsea star as Christian Chivu enters his first season as the Nerazzurri boss.

The Italian giants relieved Simone Inzaghi of his duties after a 5-0 thrashing against PSG in the Champions League final and the veteran manager is now the head coach at Al Hilal.

Inter have already missed out on one target this summer, as Granit Xhaka is set to join Saudi Arabian side, Neom, despite interest from the Serie A side.

There has been no official contact between Inter and Chelsea, however, the Premier League side would be willing to let Nkunku go for around $40m.
