Hellas Verona have reportedly initiated discussions with AC Milan in a bid to secure a late move for defender Marco Pellegrino, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Amidst a flurry of activity in the January transfer window, Hellas Verona has emerged as one of the more active Serie A clubs, executing several player transactions, including the departures of Cyril Ngonge, Isak Hien, and Josh Doig. The club has also made strategic signings, focusing on acquiring low-cost talents to replenish their squad.
Marco Pellegrino made the switch to Milan from Club Atletico Platense in the summer, sealing a deal valued at approximately €3.5 million with an additional €2 million in add-ons. However, the Argentine defender has faced challenges breaking into Stefano Pioli’s squad this season, earning just one start before an ankle injury forced him to the sidelines for an extended period.
As per reports from Di Marzio, Hellas Verona is actively seeking defensive reinforcements and has reached out to Milan to explore the possibility of acquiring Pellegrino. The Argentine’s talents have attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, including Anderlecht.
Notably, AC Milan and Hellas Verona have already engaged in business during this transfer window, with Filippo Terracciano making a move to the Milanese club in a deal valued at approximately €4.5 million.
