A report from Italian newspaper Il Mattino claims that defender Kalidou Koulibaly wants to return to Napoli this summer. The Senegalese international made the switch to Chelsea last year in a €40 million move, but is already considering his future at Stamford Bridge after a disappointing campaign.
Il Mattino now report that the 31-year-old wants to return to Naples this summer as he misses the club, citing a desire to ‘put the Napoli shirt back on.’
Napoli may yet be in the market for a centre-back, given that South Korean Kim Min-Jae is being closely linked with a move to Manchester United in July.
Koulibaly’s new salary would be a large sticking point over any potential move, however Chelsea are expected to have a clear-out of their squad this summer, which may facilitate some kind of return to Naples for the defender.
