Lazio striker Ciro Immobile revealed that Alessandro Del Piero has always been his favourite player and believes the former Juve man would be a good choice as club manager. Del Piero has been linked with a return to Turin, despite having a successful career as a pundit for a number of TV channels and is being touted as a potential vice-president. The Bianconeri are accused of a player their players under the table and inflating player transfer values, leading to the resignation of their board of directors.
Speaking to SportItalia (via Calciomercato) Immobile briefly discussed his idol in glowing terms:
“Del Piero is undoubtedly my favorite player. Me and my brother had the poster in our room, he gave us so many happy memories. Del Piero as a manager? I could see him doing very well. I was lucky enough to make my Champions League and Serie A debut in my idol’s place, that’s as good as it gets.”
