Inter Milan are  already planning for the future of their attacking lineup, with the club set to free up significant space in their budget next year. The departures of Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa are expected to free up around €20 million from the wage bill, allowing the Nerazzurri to explore new options in the transfer market.

One player who has caught the attention of Inter’s management is Jonathan David, the Canadian striker currently playing for Lille. David’s contract with the French club expires at the end of the season, making him an attractive free transfer prospect for many top clubs, including Inter.

Calciomercato report that the Italian giants have already made initial inquiries about David, demonstrating their concrete interest in the player. However, Inter’s current attacking roster is already well-structured, with Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram as established starters and Mehdi Taremi as a reliable third option.

David’s potential role at Inter would largely depend on his own expectations and ambitions. With multiple offers likely to come his way, the striker may prioritize guaranteed playing time, which Inter might not be able to promise given their current squad depth.

While it’s premature to make definitive statements about David’s future, Inter has made it clear that they hold the player in high regard. The club cannot offer immediate assurances of a starting position but can promise a central role in their project, with the opportunity for David to earn his place in the team.

As it stands, David has not reached an agreement with any club, but his situation is expected to become clearer by January. Inter remains vigilant, waiting to see if their offer of a key role in a competitive team will be enough to attract the talented Canadian striker to San Siro.
