Inter coach Simone Inzaghi believes they have to score in the first half to stand a chance of beating Liverpool. The two teams meet in the Champions League with the Reds holding a 2-0 advantage from the first leg in Milan.
Speaking ahead of the return leg at Andfield, Inzaghi pointed out that while the match will be difficult, the team are motivated:
“The result is affecting us, we played a great game and the result was too penalising for us.
It will be a difficult game tomorrow, but we have great motivation. It is important, I would say essential, to score a goal in the first half, but we know that it will be a very difficult match.
We prepared the game in three days, the lads are focused. We face the best team in Europe with Bayern Munich and Manchester City. It was great to play the first leg in Milan and we are aware that tomorrow it will be even more difficult.
Inter hadn’t reached this stage of the competition for many years and we knew that we would face a top team having finished second in the group stage. We did our best in the first leg and we’ll do the same tomorrow.”
