The Italian Government are planning reforms o the sporting justice system to prevent another repeat of the Juventus situation. The Bianconeri were docked points during the 2022-23 season for alleged capital gains on player sales, initially being docked 15-points, only to see them temporarily returned, before being finally losing 10-points.

A number of clubs spoke out against the ruling, arguing that it distorted the Serie A standings, leaving teams uncertain as to where they actually stood in the placings.

Italian news agency ANSA now report that the Government has written an amendment to the sporting justice system to prevent the incident from happening again. The new reform will mean that going forward, penalties and appeals cannot change the table during the course of the season, only after the campaign has been completed.
