Sancho Transfer To Juventus Nears Completion – Here’s Why It’s Been Delayed

Start

Juventus are closing in on the transfer of Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, with a final deal expected to be completed in the coming days.

The Bianconeri have made significant progress in their long-standing pursuit, and a fee of around €15 million now looks close to being agreed.

Sancho Juventus Transfer Update

According to multiple reports in Italy – including Gazzetta dello Sport, Tuttosport, and Sky Sport Italia – personal terms have already been settled between Sancho and Juventus, who have moved ahead of other suitors like Fenerbahce.

But some financial details still need resolving between Juve, Manchester United, and Sancho’s camp before the deal can be finalized.

Sancho, 25, is said to be determined to complete the move, even willing to reduce his wages to secure the switch to Turin.

Talks have advanced with the help of his agent, Emeka Obasi, who is currently in Turin to help break a €5m severance impasse with Manchester United.

How Much Do Man Utd Want For Sancho?

United had originally valued Sancho at €25 million but have lowered their demands after struggling to find alternative buyers. Juve’s current offer of €15m plus add-ons could be enough to get a deal over the line.

Sancho has just one year left on his contract, with an option to extend, and United are eager to move him on to free up squad space and wages.

Sancho earns a mammoth £300,000 weekly wage at United, which has been the main stumbling block of any switch for him.

Juventus’ sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, a long-time admirer of the Englishman, is pushing hard to complete the move this summer.

Sancho spent last season on loan at Chelsea, scoring five goals and registering 10 assists across 42 appearances.

Despite helping them win the UEFA Conference League, the Blues opted not to trigger a €25m buy option — instead paying a €5m penalty to send him back to Old Trafford.

Can Juventus Afford To Sign Both Sancho and Conceicao?

Juventus are also set to confirm the permanent signing of Francisco Conceicao from Porto. That deal will not impact the Sancho transfer, however, thanks to their plan to offload winger Nico Gonzalez.

Reports suggest Gonzalez is nearing a €30m move to Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, which would free up both budget and squad space.

Besides, Sancho is expected to play a different role to Conceicao, likely cutting in from the left in Igor Tudor’s fluid system.

Does Sancho Want to Join Juventus?

Sancho is reported to have turned down a move to Turkey in favor of Juventus. The winger was also previously offered to the Bianconeri last summer, but a deal was blocked due to Juve’s budget constraints at the time.

He hasn’t played for United in the Premier League since his falling-out with former manager Erik ten Hag and spent loan spells at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea.

New boss Ruben Amorim has told Sancho, as well as four other players, including Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford, to train separately, indicating he has no future at the club.

Despite interest from multiple clubs, Sancho has made it clear: his priority is Juventus.

What Happens Next in the Sancho Transfer Deal?

The remaining obstacle appears to be a €5m severance package Sancho is requesting from United to cover his wage cut.

United wants Juventus to split that fee, but with Obasi now involved on the ground in Turin, a resolution is believed to be close.

Sources suggest Juve hopes to announce both Sancho and Conceicao before their pre-season camp begins.
