Juventus midfielder, Douglas Luiz, has seen his future in Turin take a major shift as the Brazilian’s relationship with Alisha Lehmann has hit a stumbling block.
Have Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann Broke Up?
The soccer duo stunned the globe after confirming their relationship in 2021, with Douglas Luiz being a huge name in the male world and Alisha Lehmann becoming increasingly known in the women’s game.
During their times for the respective Aston Villa sides, the two became close and confirmed their relationship together, but appeared to go through multiple splits.
In 2024, the two announced that they were back together with multiple posts online and in June of that year, Luiz left the Premier League side to join Juventus for around $45 million.
Just a few days later, Lehmann completed the same move by joining the Juventus women’s side and went on to win the Scudetto in Turin – despite appearing for just 568 minutes throughout the league campaign.
Many thought that the two were still together and this could have played a part in Douglas Luiz’s future, as the Brazilian failed to impress in Italy and has been linked with a move away this summer.
Obviously, Lehmann followed Luiz’s move to Turin and this could have occurred again if the Brazil international decided to move on this summer – but the two have reportedly split.
This comes from multiple reports and Lehmann also replied to an Instagram comment which asked about Douglas Luiz, which the Swiss international replied with a red cross, suggesting that the two have gone their separate ways.
An exact reason for the break-up has not been revealed, however, it is believed that the two had differing views on their professional careers and possibly relates to their contrasting times in Turin.
Markets have opened up on the best betting apps around which club Douglas Luiz could join this summer and a host of Premier League sides are tipped as favorites.
Will Douglas Luiz Leave Juventus?
The former Aston Villa player was brought in by Juventus to boost their chances of competing for the Serie A title, however, Luiz struggled to adapt to life in Italy.
During the 2024/25 campaign, Luiz made just three starts in Serie A and endured a difficult time with injuries that impacted his chances of cementing a place in midfield.
Completing 90 minutes on just two occasions in the league, the 27-year-old is unlikely to feature under Igor Tudor and will now look to potential suitors this summer.
Luiz may struggle to feature next season, as Igor Tudor will implement his true Juventus line-up in 2025/26 and add a host of new signings to the Juve roster.
The Italian side have added some star names already, while also making last season’s loan deals permanent by adding Nico Gonzalez, Lloyd Kelly, Pierre Kalulu, and Michele Di Gregorio.
Jonathan David also joined the club after his deal with Lille expired and Francisco Conceicao is close to joining the club on a permanent basis after a successful loan deal.
As for Luiz, his deal in Turin is set to expire in 2029 and has attracted interest from Manchester United, Newcastle, Aston Villa and West Ham -setting up a potential return to the Premier League.
