How Could Juventus Line-up For 2025/26 Season? Igor Tudor Aims To End Wait For 37th Serie A Title

Start

Juventus will be looking to win their 37th Serie A title in 2026, but how will Igor Tudor line-up and what can Italian soccer fans expect next season?

How Does Igor Tudor Set His Teams Up?

The Croatian manager took the reins in Turin after Thiago Motta was relieved of his duties for a run of poor performances and Juventus lost just one of their final nine league matches under Tudor.

Improving Juve’s form to such an extent allowed the Italian side to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League once again, entering the competition in 2025/26.

But how did Igor Tudor change things at Juventus? Firstly, Thiago Motta was far more focused on a possession-based approach, with Juventus averaging around 60% under the Italian.

However, it was what Juventus were doing with the ball that was the main issue, as after 15 matches under Motta the Old Lady only managed to reach an expected foals tally of 15.8.

In Tudor’s nine matches in charge last season, Juve scored 13 goals and conceded just four, showing an improvement in both departments – which failed to translate in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Juventus, who were one of the favorites to win the competition on the best betting apps, were beat 5-2 by Manchester City and were eventually eliminated by Real Madrid, with their only victories coming against Al Ain and Wydad AC.

Igor Tudor’s biggest switch and change from Thiago Motta’s system is undoubtedly the formation, as the Croatian implemented a 3-4-3 system – as opposed to Motta’s 4-2-3-1.

In the past, the former Lazio manager has referred to Gian Piero Gasperini as the manager to follow in terms of strategy, as Tudor urges his squad to create one-on-one situations across the pitch.

Juventus will be a far more intense team next season, with Tudor setting his previous sides up to press high and create overloads in each section of the field.

His impact on the the Italian side was clear to see instantly, as Juve began to take a more direct approach, utilizing the likes of Kenan Yildiz, Kephren Thuram, Francisco Conceicao and Randal Kolo Muani.

Unfortunately for Juve, the final two names on that list were only at the club on loan, but Conceicao has now agreed to join the Old Lady on a permanent basis.

Tudor’s system demands a lot from players, being a direct and relentless manager, meaning the Juve manager will be looking for specific profiles in the upcoming window.

The Serie A giants are on the hunt for a host of new additions this summer and Juventus have reportedly been handed a boost in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho who is set to leave Manchester United this window.

Alongside a possible Sancho deal, Juve have already added some signings this summer, tying a host of players who were on loan last season to a permanent deal, including Nico Gonzalez, Lloyd Kelly, Pierre Kalulu and Michele Di Gregorio.

Jonathan David has also joined the club on a free deal following his exit from Lille and is likely to be the replacement for Dusan Vlahovic, as the Serbian looks set to leave Turin this summer.
