Josh Sargent has re-emerged on Fiorentina’s radar as I Viola prepare for life without Moise Kean.
Sargent was hotly tipped to leave English Championship side Norwich City in the summer. However, the USMNT forward stayed with the Canaries.
Now, Paolo Vanoli has pinpointed Sargent as a replacement for Kean. The Azzurri international is exploring an escape from Florence owing to the club’s poor start to the campaign.

In the summer transfer window, Fiorentina targeted Josh Sargent but was unable to get a deal over the line. FootItalia has learned that I Viola is preparing a fresh bid for the striker in the region of €20million.
Current employers Norwich have struggled in 2025-26 and are considering offloading Sargent to raise necessary capital. New head coach Philippe Clement will use the funds to replenish his whole roster.
Last season, Sargent fired home 15 goals in 32 league outings. After 15 appearances in 2025-26, the 25-year-old has found the back of the net five times.
Despite the Canaries bad form and Sargent previously turning down a move to Wolfsburg, Paolo Vanoli believes the lure of European soccer and making Sargent their star player will help convince him to move to Florence.
Is Moise Kean Leaving Fiorentina?
Barcelona have shortlisted Moise Kean and reports indicate negotiations have already begun with his representatives. The LaLiga giants want a fresh attacking outlet and Kean fits the club’s profile.
Therefore, it is 50/50 whether Kean will actually jump ship midway through the season. Ideally, Fiorentina don’t want to lose last season’s Capocannoniere runner-up.
Preparing for all outcomes is a necessity – hence why Josh Sargent has emerged as a contender to fill the void. Kean himself has struggled this season and has just two Serie A goals to his name.
It remains to be seen whether he’ll quit the Artemio Franchi but interest in the Italy striker is set to snowball in the coming weeks.

Josh Sargent is widely considered as a complete modern-day forward. Hence why Udinese and Roma also showed interest in the USMNT star in the off-season.
Sargent is renowned for his tireless work rate, relentless pressing and keen eye for goal. Something of which Fiorentina are desperate to employ into their roster.
Not only is Sargent a lethal finisher, he offers an aerial threat that would suit Serie A. The 25-year-old is extremely confident and likes to support his team-mates and bring them into attacking phases of play.
If Moise Kean was to leave Tuscany next month, I Viola could do a lot worse than bring in someone of Sargent’s caliber.
