Juventus have decided to make a move for Sassuolo captain Domenico Berardi and have already reached an agreement with the player. La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Bianconeri are going after Domenico Berardi, an idea that Cristiano Giuntoli has been cultivating since early July, when he was appointed as the new technical director of the Signora.
According to the report, Juve offered Matias Soulé to the Emilians as part of the exchange for Berardi, however CEO Giovanni Carnevali and coach Alessio Dionisi were not convinced with the Argentine. An alternative option could be Juve youngster Samuel Iling Junior.
The newspaper suggests that the deal would cost minimum of €25 million as a fixed base plus bonuses. Juve’s priority is not to worsen the 2023-24 budget and, indeed, possibly improve it: the capital gain guaranteed by the quid pro quo must, thus, balance or even exceed the cost of Berardi’s annual expenditure between amortization and gross wages.
But the Bianconeri could aim for a loan with obligation, a formula that is very fashionable among the big Serie A big teams.
The newspaper also highlights how, unlike in the past, Berardi is now determined to play his chances on a top stage. After 13 years at Sassuolo, he feels the time has really come to say goodbye, and Juve has ‘always been in his destiny’.
