Juventus Make Official Federico Chiesa Approach As Liverpool Weigh Up Offer
The winger has struggled for regular minutes under Arne Slot.
Juventus have made an official approach for Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa, according to reports.
Liverpool Must Make Federico Chiesa Decision
As reported by FootItalia, Chiesa is wanted by the Turin giants and Roma, and a Serie A return looks inevitable.
The 28-year-old, who moved to Merseyside in a £12.5million deal in August 2024, has failed to nail down a guaranteed starting spot at Anfield. As a result, he is likely to be open to moving on this month.
Arne Slot has used the wideman sparingly, despite Mohamed Salah’s explosive outburst and participation at the Africa Cup of Nations, resulting in him playing just 469 minutes in total this season.
Juventus have been closely monitoring his situation regardless, and, per Fabrizio Romano, they have formally made contact to express their interest in bringing back their former player.
Calciomercato have claimed that the Bianconeri’s admiration for the winger has never faded.
Boss Luciano Spalletti is also on board with the potential signing, having worked with him previously with Italy.
The Old Lady are working to strengthen their frontline this month, especially on the flanks. They are prioritising a winger able to deliver speed, unpredictability and, most importantly, an end product.
Chiesa ticks many of these boxes, and his history at Juventus plays in his favour in comparison to other targets.
During his four-year stint, he scored 32 goals and registered 24 assists, but was hampered by injury issues.
The final decision will now fall to Liverpool and the player himself, but negotiations have not yet advanced. For now, Juventus’ approach is primarily to make an assessment of the deal’s feasibility.

Juventus Dealt Federico Chiesa Blow
Chiesa has made no secret of his desire to return to the national fold with the Azzurri, and with increased minutes, he could still play a role in steering Gennaro Gattuso’s side to the World Cup through the play-offs.
The ace, of course, has more than 50 caps and was integral in the Euro 2020 success, earning a spot in UEFA’s team of the tournament. However, a transfer to his homeland may have already hit the buffers.
The player has been told that a departure will not be greenlit this month, according to Sport Mediaset, with the club depleted by injuries and the Africa Cup of Nations.
Their stance is that he remains part of their immediate plans, despite his long-term future remaining uncertain.
That means he is more likely to secure a belated escape route in the summer, rather than the coming weeks.
