As Juventus prepare to face Genoa in their sixth Serie A fixture, manager Thiago Motta spoke to DAZN about his team selection and recent criticism of the squad’s performances.
Addressing the decision to start Danilo, Motta expressed confidence in his player: “I trust him, as I do all our players. We only have strong players. I’m convinced that the starting eleven will put in a good performance and achieve a positive result.”
The Juventus boss acknowledged recent criticism of the team’s goal-scoring struggles but defended their overall solidity: “The criticisms are fair – when we don’t manage to score, it’s understandable. Ours is a solid team; we’ve only conceded one goal. But we need to know how to face both teams that open up and those that defend.”
Motta also explained his decision to give young defender Jonas Rouhi his first start: “Cambiaso and Cabal have done well. Jonas is a young lad who has always trained with great intensity and technical quality. I’m sure he’ll put in a good performance.”
