Juventus have made significant progress in their pursuit of Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo. The Italian giants have been keen to bolster their defensive lineup, and Todibo has emerged as a prime target in recent weeks.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports how in a recent development, Juventus has modified the conditions for the obligation to buy clause in their proposed deal for Todibo. This adjustment aims to meet Nice’s requirements and accelerate the transfer process. Cristiano Giuntoli, Juventus’ Managing Director of Football, personally traveled to Nice to meet with club officials, intermediaries, and agents to explain the details of the Bianconeri’s proposal.
The negotiations have brought the two clubs much closer to an agreement, and there is now a sense of optimism surrounding the deal. Juventus is currently awaiting Nice’s response to their revised offer.
Todibo, who has been left out of Nice’s squad for recent pre-season friendlies, has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Juventus and is eager to make the move to Turin. The French defender, under contract with Nice until June 2027, is widely expected to leave the club this summer.
While West Ham United has reportedly made a more lucrative offer for both the transfer fee and wages, Todibo’s preference for Juventus has given the Italian club an edge in negotiations.
