Juventus have reportedly rejected an offer to rejoin the European Clubs Association, turning down an approach from it’s chairman, Nasser Al-Khelaifi. The Bianconeri left the organization in 2021, shortly before attempting to start the breakaway European Superleague with 12 other clubs. Juve, Real Madrid and Barcelona remained the only teams committed to the new SuperLeague competition, but the Bianconeri were forced to withdraw their participation earlier this year in order to reduce a potential ban from European competitions by UEFA.

Speaking at an ECA board meeting in Copenhagen yesterday, Al-Khelaifi was quoted as saying:

“If they (Juventus) stop what they are trying to fight for, which I think is a stupid project, they are always most welcome (to return).

“I spoke to the owner (John Elkann) and, you know, he called me and I think they want to be back. They are definitely most welcome. It’s a new process.”

Juventus have since confirmed through the Reuters news agency that they are “not considering rejoining the ECA at the moment.”

The EU Court of Justice is ruling on FIFA and UEFA monopolies on 21 December.
