Juventus have reportedly reached an agreement on contract terms with Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori, marking a pivotal development in their summer transfer plans.
Calafiori has been a primary target for Juventus, and according to Daniele Longo, significant progress has been made in securing the deal. The Bianconeri have successfully agreed on personal terms with the young defender, who prioritized a move to Juventus over other suitors, including Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen. Calafiori is eager to work with Thiago Motta, who is expected to be announced as Juventus’ new manager soon.
Calafiori’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, has negotiated a five-year contract with Juventus, valued at approximately €2.5 million per season. Next week, Juventus and Bologna will finalize the transfer fee, with Bologna seeking €30 million for the defender. Notably, 50 percent of this fee will go to Basel, reflecting a previous agreement.
Juventus are particularly interested in Calafiori due to his versatility. The left-footed defender can play multiple positions, making him a valuable addition to the squad.
