Juventus are expected to continue with coach Max Allegri after the international break, despite their dismal run of form. The Bianconeri have had a terrible start to the season, losing both their opening Champions League fixtures before a humiliating defeat to Monza at the weekend renewed calls for Allegri to leave the club.

A number of ex-players have spoken out, including Gianluca Vialli and Claudio Marchisio, criticizing the management of the club and their perceived lack of direction.

Reports in the Italian press have tentatively linked U19 coach Paolo Montero with potentially taking over the Juve role, should Allegri be fired during the international break.

Despite the rumours, Corriere della Sera suggest that Allegri’s job is safe for the moment, but they point to some wider issues between the clubs management.

According to their report, club Vice President Pavel Nedved discussed the prospect of sacking Allegri at a senior management meeting last week, but President Andrea Agnelli dismissed the idea, pointing to the prohibitive cost of dismissing the coach, which could be as high as €30m.

Agnelli has reiterated that the club must continue with Allegri for the moment, even though it is not being done with much happiness given the mounting problems. The report points to the ongoing injury crisis, the results, the performances on the pitch, but above all, the disconnect between the players and the coach.
